2015 Keystone Cougar 315RLS

In November 2018 we upgraded from our motorhome, Regina, to a fifth wheel. After much consideration we decided to go with a new unit from Camping World Lake City and purchased a used truck to haul it from AutoMax Ocala. The 2019 Keystone Cougar 2015 315RLS had the perfect layout for us with a spacious living room and king bed!

This wasn’t an easy decision for us, as we loved Regina dearly…

Meet Regina! She was our 1998 Fleetwood Pace Arrow 36s.  Regina liked to pull our 1977 VW Bus, Twinkie, around on adventures!

How did Regina get her name?
We were out looking at RVs and Eryk started saying “Get in loser! We’re going camping!” and “You can’t camp with us” … a spin off of the movie Mean Girls. So we laughed and said we were going to name our first RV “Regina George”

Upgrading from Regina also meant that our 1977 VW Bus would be going to a new home! We had 3 good years camping with this combination and it was a good fit for us! Twinkie sure was an eye catcher going down the highway!

melinda and eryk, say twinky at walmart paris illinois may 7 2018, what a grand ridei love your slogan on back slow moving vehicle deal with it. i am a vw nut i have a 71 superbeetle (i know i wanted an earlier beetle) story is it was sittling along the road for months as i would pass by – eventually it disappeared, i thought crap they sold it, my curiosity got the best of me and i stopped and asked if it was sold, man said no- had no takers its in the pole barn -come back to night after i get off work. i did – he was a police officer in full uniform with his sidearm. that surprised me – he showed me the bug, said it was running on two cylinders last time he had it running. it wouldnt fire at all. i told him i would take it as is if he would haul it to my home 20 mile away – 1000 dollars later this rust free bug was mine – i was impressed how solid of a car this was it had to spend 30 + years stored inside somewhere – thats not the story i want to tell you – its a crappy beige bug and needs a new paint job – i looked at that police officer right in the face and said – im going to paint it green – he said there are alot of pretty green colors to chose from and i said yes this is when my wife was about to smack me upside of the head, she know my smartass attitude. i told the police officer i really wanted to make this a tribute car, he said what do you mean – i said i want to put an image of cheech and chong on the side doors and a huge marijuana leaf on the top hood of the vw- then asked – would you pull me over – he said yes end of story if i ever finish this bug ill send you a photo take care drive safe – love twinky, boy i am jealous if you ever decide to sell heer – keep me in mind, i will treat her and her memories with loving care regards doyle and jeanie entrican

What a great and funny story! Every old VW has its own story! We have had a few bugs before we got the bus! We’re so happy you spotted us in Paris! We were grabbing some groceries! Have a great day!
