Return to Sender: Dealing With Our Mail

This week we tackle Sara & Michael’s questions about how we are going to receive our mail. We will also cover what we have chosen to do about where we will live on paper, our domicile.  Check out our video and tell us what you think!

First and foremost, please excuse the terrible lighting. We’re still new to this vlogging thing and we’re learning what works and what doesn’t work. Obviously, today our lighting did NOT work in our favor.
Now, on to the good stuff.

Nomads typically choose FL, TX or SD as their domicile state for tax purposes or ease of registration renewal. Since we live in Florida, we will keep that as our domicile state. We have done a bit of research and we have chosen to “live” with a close family member. Our mail will be sent to my Mom and she will forward anything that we find to be important. Our driver’s licenses, vehicle registration, taxes and insurance will all reside at her address. We’ll probably spend some time there as well in the Winter!
If you don’t have a trusted “Next of Kin” to “live” with, you can also use services through Escapees, Good Sam or St. Brendan’s Isle.  To learn more about Domicile and and Mail Options that may be best suited for you, we recommend that you check out the thorough research of Technomadia and Gone With The Wynns.  We learned a TON of information from them!
Since we are going to be sending our precious postal delights to my Mom, we don’t want her to be bombarded with junk mail. Here’s a few tips for reducing your unwanted correspondence:

Consuela - no...no no junk mail
So there you have it. That’s how we are currently planning on handling our residency and our mail. Maybe it will work, maybe it won’t…but that’s the game plan.
Are you using a domicile service? A family member? How is it working out for you?
Let us know!
